Lottie Loves… Finishing School – Week 5 August 9, 2010

This weeks Finishing School challenge is E is for… Eyes

The challenge this week is in 2 parts:

1. Have an eye test. 

2. Wear mascara every day for a week.

The eye test part was brilliantly timed as I’ve been getting reminders from the opticians for the past 2 months to go for one.  I booked my appointment and all is well.  My eyes have changed a tiny bit but as I only need to wear glasses for long distance I didn’t need new glasses.  Phew!

As for the mascara part, I don’t normally bother wearing make-up unless I’m going out somewhere so this was quite a challenge for me.

Day 1 : Sunday 1st August – Today was actually quite an easy day to start off with as we were at a friends baby’s christening so I was fairly dressed up.  I only wore mascara though, but I liked it!

Days 2-4: In work but the office is really quite at the moment and there were only 2 of us in.  Don’t think my fluttery lashes were even noticed.  I did, however, quite enjoy having a bit of make up on.

Days 5 & 6:  I don’t work Thursdays and Fridays and usually don’t really go far so never bother with make-up.  I was painting on Thursday so didn’t bother with the mascara today (challenge failed, I know!) but on Friday I went shopping to Meadowhall so made an effort, put some nice clothes on and a bit of make-up.

Day 7: Saturday 7th August – Final day of the challenge.  I thought today may be another fail as I was just doing housework but we got a last-minute invite to a BBQ so I had an excuse to wear some make up again.

Its been, not a hard challenge, but I’ve had to make an effort to put make up on as I’m just not used to it.  I’ll never be someone who won’t leave the house without it but I do think it’s made me think more, and I’m sure I’ll be wearing make up more often.
