You’ll have to excuse me if I’m not very good at this, I’ve never written a blog post before.
I’m Emma, 25, wife, mummy, accountant – and all the extras that go with those few titles. My daughter, C, is 9.5 months which means that my 9 months maternity leave has, sadly, just ended. Despite having a ‘career’ rather than a job, I’ve never been a particularly career-minded person. I got into accountancy because I got an A* in maths at GCSE, that’s honestly the only reason. I do like what I do but I’d much rather stay at home, looking after babies and having the tea on the table for 5.30 every day. Unfortunately, that’s never going to happen, not if we want to continue paying the mortgage anyway, so I’ve had to compromise by returning to work 3 days a week.
As far as parenting goes, I think I’m fairly laid back. We’re doing baby-led weaning and I sometimes babywear, but I also use a pushchair and we’ve never co-slept. And all those things work for us!
M, my husband, is such a great daddy. I really couldn’t ask for any more. When I explained baby-led weaning to him his response was ‘well, why doesn’t everyone do that?’ He really does think its such a great idea and loves telling people that C feeds herself and has never had mush!
So, thats a snapshot of my life. I’ll leave you with a picture of my gorgeous girl.
