C is 10 months old today, how on earth did that happen?

As I was going through my photos yesterday for my Gallery entry, I surprised myself by how emotional I got.  Especially when I found the photos of the day C was born.  I don’t think I’m broody, I just think my little baby seems to have grown up far too quickly.

To honour C’s 10 month birthday I thought I’d do a list of 10 things about her.

1. She was born on a Sunday at 2.16pm weighing 7lb 5oz

2. Her first ‘word’ was dada, which she said on Christmas day

3. She cut her first 2 teeth on 2nd January, and we’re still waiting for some more!

4. She loves fruit – her favourite is blueberries

5. She likes to be holding a blanket when she goes to sleep which she usually ends up putting over her face

6. She has never had a dummy

7. She refuses to crawl as hates being on her stomach.  She is, however, just developing her bum shuffling

8. She loves swimming, we first took her when she was just 10 weeks old

9. She has ticklish armpits!

10. She is a complete daddy’s girl

Oh, how she’s changed:

The Gallery – Portraits April 27, 2010

This weeks theme for The Gallery over at Sticky Fingers is portraits.

Sounds simple but was actually hard to choose so there are 2 pictures on my Gallery entry this week.

This is of me & C when she was about 10 weeks old.  We were out for a walk with the dog around our local park and it was a really lovely day so we laid on the grass and watched the world go by for an hour.

And another of C with my other baby, BJ.  When C was born, BJ ignored her most of the time but they’re great friends now.  If C is upset he will go and lay next to her, and he can’t walk past her without giving her a kiss!

Whats in your bag? April 27, 2010

So, I’ve been tagged in my first meme by Serenity Now! to reveal the contents of my handbag!

I’m afraid this isn’t going to be a very exciting post as my handbag just has the bare essentials really.  Now, had you asked me for the contents of C’s change bag, then that would have been a rather longer post!

So, here goes!  Obviously in my handbag I need my purse.  Unfortunately this is never full of money but I do have pennies, receipts and various loyalty cards!

Then I have house keys, work keys & car keys, and my mobile.  Not a swanky iPhone but a fairly ok HTC touch3g.  I like it anyway!

My glasses, used mostly for driving, and my sunglasses are in there at the moment too.

Bits of folded paper: my P60, a leaflet from Yeomans about camping exhibitions and a leaflet advertising music time at my local library.

A pen, a purple Surestart pen with blue ink to be precise!

Some tissues.

And that’s everything!

The next part of this challenge is to award this badge;

to some other bloggers, and the rules are:

  • Put the logo on your sidebar or within a post
  • Pass the award onto 12 bloggers
  • Link the nominees within your post
  • Let the nominees know they have received this award by commenting on their blog
  • Share the love and link to the person from whom you received this award

And I’m nominating:

If you’re not tagged and fancy having a go, just let me know you’ve done it!

My daughter loves her food, and making a mess.  This wasn’t all her fault though, daddy may have been involved with this one too!

A few more of my gluttonous daughter.

Firstly, with her first pancake

And there has to be a chocolate one doesn’t there?!

This post was inspired by Tara at Sticky Fingers and her Gallery prompt this week was ‘7 Deadly Sins’

Me and my brother April 21, 2010

My brother is 6 and a half years younger than me.  Thats a fairly big age gap really so its only in the past couple of years that we’ve become good friends.

He’s 18, free and single, drives a cool car, loves going out and partying and has lots of friends.  I’m 25, married with a baby, also drive a cool car (honest!), rarely go out anymore and have a select few friends that I keep in touch with.  But somehow, we’re closer now than we’ve ever been.

He sometimes phones me up in his lunch hour at work, just to chat.  And I love that so much!  He even lends me his cool All Saints belts when he’s in a really good mood.

When me and M got together, I was 17 and still living at home.  He came to see me one night and when it was time for him to leave I went outside with him for a goodnight kiss.  We were just getting close when I noticed the curtains twitching and hiding behind them was my brother, then 10 years old, giggling his head off.

I once tied him up to the washing line pole and tickled him until he cried.  I live in fear of him getting me back for this as he’s now over 6ft and I wouldn’t stand a chance against him.

I remember when my mum went into labour and I was dropped off at my grandparents at 2am while my parents went to hospital.  I went running down the path, shouting at the top of my voice as I was so excited.  I doubt the neighbours were amused though!

I have many lovely memories of my brother and I hope we continue to get closer as we get older.

This post was written for the Sleep is for the weak writing workshop.  I chose prompt 4 – Share some memories of a sibling or siblings
