A daddy and his daughter September 4, 2010

When I was pregnant we didn’t find out what sex the baby was.  This was my decision rather than M’s, although he has said since that he’s glad we didn’t find out.  Throughout my pregnancy M said he wanted a boy, someone to do ‘boy’ things with, to carry on his name.  I even thought I was carrying a boy.  Apparently 75% of mothers instinctively know what sex the baby they’re carrying is.  Obviously, I’m in the minority.

I honestly didn’t care what sex the baby was although I can remember feeling slightly surprised when I was told we had a girl.  Despite telling me for the previous 8 months that ‘if it was a girl it could go back and wait until it had grown bits’, M was instantly smitten and continues to be.

C is now 14 months old and is such a daddy’s girl.  He is fantastic with her and she absolutely adores him.  I hope it continues for a long time but for now I want to share some pictures of the two of them.

Aww. lovely photos! We were impatient and found out at the 20 week scan , I’m hoping when the time comes to have another one I will be more patient and wait until baby is born to find out the sex!
I knew I was having a boy..Just had a feeling.. like the feeling I had when I just knew I was pregnant! 🙂

The last photo is just gorgeous! I too have a Daddy’s girl and I get such a warm feeling when I watch the two of them together. I’m now expecting a boy in 2 weeks so I’m hoping he’ll be a mummy’s boy!

Lovely photos! My daughter is a daddy’s girl too, but I really think that’s a good thing! We only found out she was a girl a few minutes after birth, but I KNEW she was a girl from very early on 🙂

I love the daddy-daughter photos. From personal experience, I find there are always lots of photos of dad asleep with the baby on them, but never mum, wonder why that is!
