The Gallery is back and this weeks theme is A Memory

I spent quite a while looking through photos until I found a folder that made me smile a little more than some of the others.

I’m 39 weeks pregnant and this is the last time M and I went out together before C arrived.  This picture is taken in the Mining Museum at Matlock Bath, which about a 45 minute drive from us.

I think looking back at this photo makes me smile as neither of us had any idea just how much our lives were going to change in a weeks time.

We went to Matlock Bath again a few weeks ago, and as we sat eating our fish and chips (those who’ve been know this is a must when you visit!) we talked about the last time we visited when C was still affectionately known as ‘pea’, and smiled.

Don’t forget to get yourself over to The Gallery at Sticky Fingers to have a look at some of this weeks other entries.

You look happily oblivious! You should post an after picture??? 🙂

Ha ha, maybe I should!

I’ve got a similar one to this. 38w pregnant and totally oblivious. It makes me smile too, it’s like looking at a different life.

It’s so odd isn’t it, how much your life changes and how little you understand it in advance, despite the classes and the books and the chatting to friends…. Great picture!

7. Rosie Scribble - August 18, 2010

Gorgeous pic. And Matlock Bath is about 45 minutes from us too!

What a lovely bump… and I agree with the Matlock fish and chip theory!

Even if someone tried to tell you, you just wouldn’t get it until it happened – that’s how I feel, I had noooo idea!

Lovely photo 🙂

I agree you need an after picture, you are so clueless aren’t you. I remember that feeling xx

This is a lovely photo, its so nice to have these kinds of photos (pre-babies).

I took some photos of my bump each month after it started to show then I took one when my daughter was a month old, holding her against my belly. It’s funny, the thing I notice most is the look on my face in each photo–happy, cheerful, bemused even… then just completely dog tired in the last one. You def should have an after photo!

Lovely picture. I think most parents to be are in denial first time – otherwise they’d freak completely. And it’s difficult to comprehend how your life is going to change until you’re actually living. You can try to imagine but you can switch off those thoughts. Living it is different cos you can’t do that.

ah, you look so happy 🙂 it’s funny isn’t it – you know your life is going to change but you have no idea quite how much. now it is very hard to remember life before kids 🙂

Fish and chips always add the finishing touch to a day out, I find! It’s ages since I’ve been to Matlock, I might have to pencil ina visit.
